“Rich Man Is King” is collaboration between dr. Israel and DJ Sep. Available in three versions, the song is inspired by Pheme, the personification of fame and renown in Greek mythology. Her favor being notability and her wrath being scandalous rumor, Pheme was said to have pried into the affairs of mortals and gods. She repeated what she learned, starting off at first with just a whisper, but repeating it louder each time, until everyone knew. In other words, she would’ve fit in perfectly in our social-media-infused, fame-and-fortune-obsessed world.
